Notice of Pesticide Use Between the dates of June 15th and July 31st, 2017, The Canadian Centre for Mosquito Management Inc. will be conducting a larvaciding program under the authority of the Medical Officer of Health (Peterborough County-City Health Unit) to control larval mosquitoes in order to prevent their development into vectors of West Nile Virus. The larvacide Altosid (PCP# 21809, pellets) will be placed into municipal catch basins in the City of Peterborough and in outlying communities throughout the County of Peterborough. All larvacide will be applied by Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change licensed applicators or trained technicians.
