TERMS; Cash, Interac Debit, Visa, MasterCard Last week's ad turned out to be a recipe, hmmn, now in the old days print errors were blamed (caused) by "the printer's devil" . Today with both spell and grammar check there is little work for the printer's devil; but computers have their own demons and I was hit by one last week. The mischievous elf I was dealing with is the one that directs your mind to click on the wrong file when you are attaching a file to an email. So be gone mischievous elf or I will boil you in butter and serve you to the ravenous Coyotes howling at my door. Now that is taken care of! This week is another fresh fish weekend. I am rather proud of myself as I have fresh wild caught fish from all three of Canada's oceans. I have wild Sockeye Salmon from B.C.'s Pacific Ocean; I have wild caught Arctic Char from the N.W.T.'s Arctic Ocean and wild caught Haddock from Atlantic Canada. I also will have wild North Atlantic cod from Iceland and wild shrimp from Argentina. Not bad for a little store in Camborne. Missed from last week is: A few weeks ago I complained that while steaks were selling well, my chicken sales were not as robust. The following week I sold out of chicken. So, I am going to see if lightening can strike twice and complain again. As before my steaks sell well but ground beef is piling up. I have a surplus of Black Angus ground beef in one lb pkgs. frozen. I have been offering a special incentive of 5 pkgs for $25.00 and that has helped a little; but now I really need to move it on out. So, here is the deal;: 5 lbs for $25.00; 10 lbs for $40.00 and 50 lbs for $150.00. You can do the math. It is a really good deal and lasts until supplies are depleted. Bad news about genetically modified salmon (Frankensalm) A U.S. based salmon farming operation dumped 250,000 lbs of GMO salmon into Canada. Several years ago both Canada and the U.S. approved GMO salmon for human consumption. In the U.S. the salmon must be labeled as GMO. The Canadian Govt. has refused to require GMO labeling. If the salmon had been placed in U.S. stores there would have been a consumer negative reaction; so, just dump it in Canada. Sad our Federal Govt. is so stupid. We don't and won't sell GMO salmon. As usual I am well stocked with Black Angus steaks for your BBQ. Our beef is drug & hormone free, it has been raised in a low stress local farm and the meat has been dry aged for 21 days. The big box store is advertising that all their beef is Black Angus-but is it drug & hormone free?, is it raised on a feed lot? Is it cut 1" thick or more? Is it dry aged? Does it taste as good as ours? I know the answers and I am sure you can figure it out.
