THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN NOTICE OF AN OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT AND A ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen will hold a public meeting on October 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Office of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen at the corner of Highway 7 (Ottawa Street) and Oak Street in Havelock to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment under Sections 17 and 34 of The Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, as amended. The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen is in receipt of applications for an Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment for certain lands located in Part Lot 16, Concession 3, in the Belmont Ward (Stone). The subject lands are currently designated "Shoreline". The proposed Official Plan Amendment will add a new policy section to Section 3.3 - Shoreline, namely Section 3.3.5 - Special Shoreline Policy Area. The subject lands are also currently zoned "Seasonal Residential (SR) Zone" and "Rural (RU) Zone". The proposed zoning by-law amendment will change the zone category to "Seasonal Residential Exception-Holding (SRE-H) Zone" in order to provide uniform zoning of the subject property; while also introducing certain site specific regulations. A KEY MAP showing the lands to which these Amendments applies is provided below. ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make verbal or written representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. If a person or public body does not make oral submission at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen before the proposed Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen to the Ontario Municipal Board. If a person or public body does not make an oral submission at the public meeting, or make written submissions to the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen before the proposed zoning by-law amendment is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. If you wish to be notified of the passing of the zoning by-law amendment, you must make a written request to the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen. Complete copies of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment will be available for inspection by the public at the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Municipal Office during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
