I have switched from wood heat to natural gas; so, I have a great little wood stove and chimney for sale. The stove is a Jotul - it is cast iron and without doubt from one of the finest stove makers. I really miss the wood heat and the aroma; so, I am looking for a candle that smells like a wood fire! Next seafood, we are looking at Oct 28th-29th for fresh seafood. If the fishery and demand hold up I will be bringing in fresh whole Ontario pickerel. Whole fish will be approx $9.95 lb. The average size is 2-4 lbs. I don't want to filet 60 lbs of fish so phone in your order ASAP. I will be bringing in several wild species including one of the B.C. salmon. I have mentioned this before, but I really need to crow a little about our "fresh-air chilled chicken". This chicken is neither scaled nor dipped in ice water to cool down the carcass; as a result the skin is more ivory coloured than white. The taste, especially in the skin on product, is amazing; I am getting oodles of positive feedback. This product comes in on Friday fresh for the weekend. The product range includes boneless skinless breasts, bone in breasts, chicken Supremes, boneless skin on breasts, bone-in, skin on thighs and leg quarters. Note: a chicken supreme is a skin on breast with all bone out except the drumette of the wing. Beef: Although I am trying to get into the Fall/Winter mode, steaks are still flying out the door. The BBQ is not done yet. Our beef is from local prime Black Angus steers that have been raised in a low stress environment with out the use of drugs or hormones. It is processed locally and aged for 21 days. The roasts are nicely trimmed and the steaks are cut at least 1" thick. All the cuts are vac packed at the abattoir. Vacuum packing ensures freshness and visibility. You would be unlikely to choose a partner who had a brown paper bag over their head; so why would you buy a steak wrapped in brown paper so you can't see it!! That's my rant for the week - come out and see me. We have beef, chicken, duck, pork, lamb, bison & seafood that are excellent in taste and tenderness and have been raised with care by local farmers or Mennonite farmers in Heidelburg without the use of hormones and anti-biotics.
