The stove is a Jotul - it is cast iron and without doubt from one of the finest stove makers. It easily heats 600 square feet and has a six hour burn. Stove and chimney = $1000.00 Next seafood, we are looking at Oct 28th-29th for fresh seafood. I will be bringing in fresh whole Ontario pickerel. Whole fish will be approx $9.95 lb. The average size is 2-4 lbs. Phone in your order ASAP. I will be bringing in several wild species including B.C. King Salmon; it is the most desirable of the B.C. salmon, hence the moniker "King". It is also known as Chinook and Red Spring salmon. Beef: I am trying to get into the Fall/Winter mode, but steaks are still flying out the door. The BBQ is not done yet. However we have a good selection of roasts, stews, etc. Our beef is from local prime Black Angus steers that have been raised in a low stress environment with out the use of drugs or hormones. It is processed locally and aged for 21 days. The roasts are nicely trimmed and the steaks are cut at least 1" thick. Oxygen in our atmosphere is the biggest enemy of freshness in our meat supply. Meat in an open meat counter or wrapped in plastic wrap is losing freshness to oxygen and light. Our beef is vac packed at the abattoir immediately after being cut. Vacuum packing ensures freshness and visibility and we keep your meat in the dark. No wonder it looks great and tastes better. Chicken: Our chicken, especially the roasters will assist you to travel back in time. Many of our customers have told me our roasting chickens are just like they remember from the days of Sunday dinners on Grandmas farm. They are that good. We have whole chickens and parts that are processed using natural air to chill them as opposed to chilled water tank dipping. As a result the skin on this chicken is the more natural ivory colour instead of white. You can taste the difference. All of our chickens are raised drug and hormone free in a low stress environment. That's my rant for the week - come out and see me. We have beef, chicken, duck, pork, lamb, bison & seafood that are excellent in taste and tenderness and have been raised with care by local farmers or Mennonite farmers in Heidelburg without the use of hormones and anti-biotics.
