My recipe in this weeks paper (Thursday's Northumberland Today) is for a Cottage pie made with Bison and bacon. Here is what we have in game meat: Ground bison, bison stew meat, bison smoked sausage, bison steaks, ground wild boar (more boar selection coming), ground elk, ground Venison and alligator fillets. In wild fish we have Ontario pickerel, Atlantic cod, Atlantic halibut, B.C. halibut, B.C. wild sockeye, NWT wild Arctic char and Argentine wild shrimp. We are "game" to buy and try some? It is supposed to 9 degrees and sunny on Sunday. I have the fresh Black Angus steaks ready for your BBQ. My wife has a new hobby growing hydroponic herbs. She harvested some basil this weekend and it sold really well. So, keep an eye out as we grow more organic herbs for you. We are starting out very small; but then fifteen years ago I was only selling bacon and a few sausages. So look what you have done to me; turned my part-time retirement job into full time work at age &%. This week we have Thai basil, Genovese basil, thyme and mint. We have beef, chicken, duck, pork, lamb, bison & seafood that are excellent in taste and tenderness and have been raised with care by local farmers or Mennonite farmers in Heidelberg without the use of hormones and anti-biotics.
